TCG manager talks about World of Warcraft Trading Card Game

Listed in: Interviews
Tags: Blizzard, Dan Bojanowski Gamespy managed to chat with the Product Manager of the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, Dan Bojanowski of Upper Deck. He gave some basic info about the card game, and what there is to know about Blizzard's WoW alternative should there be no electricity.
Gamers who are worried that there will be discrepancies between the TCG and the online game shouldn't have any reasons to worry: Bojanowski assured that they worked closely with Blizzard to make sure that the items and characters as well as situations depicted in the cards stay true to the material on which it was based on.
An interesting spin to the WoW Trading Card Game is the inclusion of Loot Cards. Loot Cards can actually be redeemed for virtual items to be used in-game, with the cards ranging from the humorous to just plain awesome.
For those who'd want to hone their TCG skills, Blizzard will have live events and tournaments in store for WoW TCG players, which Upper Deck will organize for players of all levels - beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level players - and host them in different locations.
Speaking of live events, Upper Deck and Blizzard will hold the first-ever WoW TCG Championship Tournament to be held in late November, with US$ 100,000 at stake.
With its MMO counterpart expanding as time goes on, Bojanowski is sure that the TCG will grow alongside it as well, with its own expansion decks. More card does equal to more fun, that's for sure.
